Canada - part eight

Wednesday 5th August 2009

9.10am
I *thought* I’d slept well last night – at one point I woke up and thought I’d slept through till 5.55am. After getting hold of the clock and expecting the alarm to go off at any minute I fell asleep again, when I next woke up it was after 1am so I realised I’d obviously read the clock wrong in my half-asleep world :-( I then woke up another few times as well. I haven’t slept well at all since I got here :-( Sometimes when I’m away I don’t sleep properly the first night or 2 then it gets better, that doesn’t seem to be the case this time :-(

When the alarm eventually did go off I actually could’ve stayed asleep. In fact I dozed till about 6.20 before I got up to go for my swim. I didn’t mess about in the pool this morning, just did my 100 diagonals and got out. While I was in there a man from the hotel came in and went into the maintenance room, when he came out I was dried and had my gown on and swimsuit off. We chatted briefly before I went back to the room for my shower.

When I got out of the shower I decided for a change not to put my plait in my hair, I just combed it and left it to dry naturally.

I *was* good at breakfast this morning – well, better than normal anyway. I had a bowl of fruit salad followed by bran flakes and banana and then a plate of scrambled eggs – and no chocolate muffin. From now on I’m also going to make the healthiest choices available on a menu when we go out.

After breakfast we sorted out our washing and went down to the laundry – we filled 3 machines again :-o

We then came back to the room and we’re watching telly for a while. The maid has just come in and we need to go and swap the washing into the drier(s) soon.

2.20pm
we swapped the clothes into the drier just after the maid left and then I went to collect them later. When I did go to collect them it was over the half an hour it says the cycle takes but it wasn’t finished so I had to wait a while. We sorted the clothes out and found LOADS of them need ironing – many more than at home.

While mum ironed the clothes I went down to the gym and burnt 944 calories doing 30 minutes on each machine. I then killed the calories by coming back to the room and eating buttered toasted buns and crisps *rolleyes*

I’ve not really done an awful lot more than that, played on the DS for a bit and now I’ve gone really tired, I may end up having a nap this afternoon :-o

6.55pm
well we’re just waiting for the dreaded outing *rolleyes*

I did have a power-nap this afternoon, just 20 minutes was enough to recharge me.

We’ve made packed lunch for tomorrow – are ham salad sandwiches any healthier than burgers? I feel really fat but I was thinking I *could* be pre-menstruallly bloated, I hope so and I guess I’ll find out in a week or two. I hope it stays away till next Monday – it’ll be easier to deal with when I’ve got my own bedroom and a bit of privacy, in fact that’s what happened last time we were here – it happened while we were in America, fingers crossed the same happens again!!

I got some food earlier from the ‘social hour’, it’s advertised as macaroni cheese on the calendar but it was big pasta shapes – one set in cheese sauce and another in tomato sauce. I just got some on paper plates and brought it back to the room seeing as mum wasn’t interested. I was glad I’d brought it back to the room cos when I tasted it I found it was cold so I heated it up in the microwave.

Right I guess I’ll post this now and then update tomorrow after our wonderful sight-seeing trip to downtown Toronto *rolleyes*.
